Lara Croft: Tomb Raider (Angelina Jolie)

This is a commission I illustrated for a family member who wanted to add some of my art to her game room. She is a huge Angelina Jolie fan and loves playing the Tomb Raider games. It seemed only fitting to add this to her collection. I originally drew this image back in 2003 in pencils only. I looked at a photograph of Angelina Jolie for the inspiration, sketched the image out by hand, added all the shading and outlined the image in a bold pencil. Having found the image among some old drawings recently, I decided to give the image a color facelift! I wanted to keep with the original comic style of the original drawing but have a more "painted" look for the color. I added the title at the top based on the movie style font for Lara Croft: Tomb Raider and the Mayan Calendar image in the background which I colored and converted to a painted look as well. Seemed appropriate for Lara Croft to explore the Mayan Temples and it added that something extra to the image to make it stand out! You can purchase a print on my website of this image!
